Photography, derived from the Greek words meaning “light” and “to draw,” is about drawing or “painting with light”. I sculpt it where necessary and allow it to flow naturally where it shines. In essence I take the time needed to craft the perfect lighting in certain shots. However I quickly capture others when the light aligns beautifully on its own.

As a real estate photographer, I believe that each space has a story to tell, an emotion to convey. My approach goes beyond simply snapping photos; it’s about truly understanding the unique character of your property and bringing it to life.

Natural light is a powerful tool, and I take the time to assess how it interacts with each room. Achieving depth through light and shadow is essential to showcasing a home effectively. The direction of light plays a crucial role in creating this dynamic. The old adage, “make sure the light is behind you when you take your photo,” can often hinder the potential for vibrant, engaging interior photography.

In my work, I intentionally seek angles that allow shadows to add dimension, creating a more inviting atmosphere. There are times when natural light can be too harsh, flattening the scene rather than enhancing it. In those moments, I adapt by subtly adjusting blinds or curtains or using flash to create the right balance. This thoughtful manipulation helps highlight the property’s unique features while maintaining a sense of depth.

My goal is to craft a curated collection of images that not only showcase your property but also tell its unique story through the art of light. By mindfully using natural light and employing subtle blocking techniques, I create depth and dimension that bring each shot to life. While a significant amount of flash may be employed on site, it is thoughtfully blended into the final edits to enhance colours and add depth, perfectly complementing the natural light and energy of the scene.
